All Inclusive Deals

I prefer to skip the all inclusive deals. If you are just going to stay at the big brand name hotel, why not just drive 30 min to the one closest to your house?

Rather than just drinking and pretending your enjoying a caribbean vacation, why not get out and explore the countryside a bit, where ever you go? What better way than by skipping the all inclusive and having a taste of the local food? The local culture?

Haven't you heard of a vacation? Relax and Enjoy! No worries about anything. The Caribbean is a place to go for that... not to explore another culture. You can join the peace corps if that is what you are looking for.

Its pretty obvious by your statement you have not done a "big resort" type all inclusive on vacation because what you are saying doesnt really make sense. This type of vacation offers alot to the traveler and in fact they can still jump on a bus and visit the local culture. In fact the staff at the hotel is usually still from the islands. The hotels blend into the locations. In fact Sandals resorts which is the biggest all inclusive style resort is owned by a jamaican man and is a jamaican company.

One big name all inclusive resort in Costa Rica tells people that it is "dangerous" to go outside their "compound"... unless you are on one of their "tours".

If you want to lay in the sun and drink too much the all inclusive is unbeatable. If you was something "different"... well... there are aren't.

I thought the concept of an all inclusive package was that you would be able to enjoy everything. When I go on vacation I don't want to have to hoof it down to next village for some fun. The sandals resort sounds like a great place to stay in the jamaica.

All inclusive is great for most people wanting to go on a vacation with the least amount of stress and surprise. Everyone is different though. Some people like to feel like they have money to try different things. If you sink your money into an all inclusive package and get there and you don't like what is being offered then you are stuck between a rock and a hard place.
