Has anyone been? Ive heard its very quiet and not much to do. If your into a quiet get away this might be the answer.

I was wondering the same thing. I really don't hear much about people going there on vacation. There could be an advantage to that. Since it might not be a big tourist attraction the prices should be even more reasonable.

It's a nice place to be if you do not like too much of busy streets, too many people. Actually there are tourists who come and visit Antigua. When you go there you can visit Shirley Heights.

Antigua is absolutely amazing. We loved it when we went a couple of years ago. Antigua has many different areas to enjoy. The beaches on the northwest side are best for swimming and water sports. The east side isn't that great for swimming. This is a great area for families to just relax. There are still many activities you can do like sailing, scuba diving, snorkeling, and even some windsurfing if the weather permits. The winds in Antigua are usually very calm.

I have heard such good things about it. I have always wanted to to. It seems like it would be a great place to visit. It is usually very expensive?

I lived in Antigua 7 years and it is just amazing! A bit dry in summer, but even in summer there is the carnaval. Other than this it is a small island with 365 beaches, you have the calm and turquoise Caribbean Sea and on the other side the Atlantic Ocean. It is just awesome for sailing, but you can also go scuba diving, game fishing or kite boarding. In the evenings you can go dining in a small fish fry like Papa Souk or to Big Banana Pizzeria, and oceanfront places like "The Beach" or Lashings invite for liming until the clubs open. Every Sunday there is a big Party at Shirley Heights in a tremendous setting with steel drum and Calypso music, and finally the Classic Yacht Regatta and the Race Week are the best regatta events in the whole world with a different party every night at a different beach. I am living now in Dominican REpublic, but honestly Antigua is hard to beat.
