Getting married in Arubatater03 (12.168.211.47) -
My friend would love to get married in Aruba. I was wondering if anybody knows of the laws and logistics on being able to get married in another country? Or where to look to find this information?Thank you

You can now get married in Aruba - Couples can have both their wedding ceremony and honeymoon in paradise. If you are at least 18 years old, you can say, "I do" on "One Happy Island" upon submitting standard documentation at least 14 days prior to the date of the ceremony. Documents must be submitted to the Office of the Civil Registry on the island via mail or in person. Certain restrictions may apply.Click the link to read the full specifics...

Thank you very much. This information will help her out alot. She was going to do some investigating this weekend on the ins and outs of getting married in Aruba. This should help out immensly. Thanks again and have a great day.

You can also ask the resort you plan to stay at if they offer wedding packages. Sometimes they have a whole area devoted to planning it out for you to save you all the stress. :) Good luck!

The U.S. acknowledges your marriage no matter what country it was preformed in, so you don't have to worry about any problems back home after your romantic wedding.

Thats true, they acknowledge and will also proform the divorce without leaving the states. LOL I think my marriage lasted 3 years. :P

Great information! I wasn't sure how it worked when you returned to states after being married in Aruba. My brother and his fiance were thinking about an exotic wedding somewhere. I will pass this info on to them.
