A long time ago, a friend of mine almost got me a job on a cruise ship. I was real close to getting it. I think if your single, this would be a great way to make some money!

Most of the people on cruise ships don't really make that much money. They work 12 or more hours a day. Also, you stay away from your family about 8 months out of the year. I guess it's a good route to choose if you really want to see the world and don't mind working hard along the journey.

I have a friend who worked on Princess cruise lines as a dancer and that was alright. He didn't make a lot of money but the dancers were given better quarters than a lot of the employees aboard the ship. I hope you don't have a tendency to go stir crazy. Yeah, you won't make 'great' money (but you do keep a lot more when you're not having to pay for food and accommodations so long as you don't party too hard when you're done), and yes, you do get to see the world a bit, but keep in mind you'll be stuck on a boat and you'll be in tight quarters with a lot of people who might not handle their new surroundings well. People can get a little strange when you take them out of their usual social order and lock them up in a little village, in this case one at sea.I would certainly say to try it at least once. You may also find that one outfit treats their employees quite differently from others. • Page 1 (Original Post) •
