| Summer Jobs Me and a group of friends are thinking about getting summer jobs in Cozumel, Cancun, or Jamaica. What would be good jobs for tourists for a few months? We like to party so what are bar jobs like or even waitress jobs like? |
| My sister wants to drop out of school and work in Jamaica. She is burnt out with school right now and thinks she can make a ton of money over there and then come back and finish up school. I'm wondering too what these jobs pay and if they are at all lucrative. |
#2a city that never sleeps | You would have to get a work visa first i'd imagine? I'm not all sure how immigration works over there... But i would imagine there would be waitressing jobs, cooking, resorts and so on. You just need to make sure you work somewhere that speaks English ;) |
#3somewhere over the rainbox | Not to mention paying taxes in the USA and the Caribbean country... Of course the reality is that many get waitresses jobs without work permits, don't pay taxes anywhere and get good tips. If you want those risks the financial rewards are probably good. |
| Yeah, how would that work if you're an American citizen working over there? Like someone had mentioned...I'm sure it works the same as people from other countries who work here in the States, they do so with a Work Visa. I dont' know...it seems like too much work just to work out of the U.S. LOL |
#5a city that never sleeps | It would be more reasonable to get a work visa if they wanted to stay somewhere for a long time, like 6 months or a year and can't afford to save up that much money before going there. A work visa can be pretty easy to obtain in certain countries and realy hard to obtain in others. Yeah there's always working under the table which is basically illegal but a lot of people do that, JUST make sure to NOT overstay your visitor visa!!! Oh and do not get caught working illegally ha. |
| I am looking for a summer job in Bermuda waitressing for 3 months. Do you know of any where? |
| I'd like to work in Jamaica too. Probably this summer. Actually, I just like to visit Jamaica and I'm thinking of earning extra money so I can support myself. I want to party hardcore! |
