Have you ever been on a vacation during a hurricane. Not sure, does the caribbean get alot of hurricanes? I would definetly be hitting the high road if one were heading my way. Vacation or no vacation.

What time of year will you be taking your vacation? If you plan on going from July-September... then, yes, you do run the risk of a hurricane coming.

However, I would recommend getting insurance on your vacation and just taking the risk! If it is a tropical storm or a minimal hurricane (Cat. 1), you could just ride it out in your hotel.

You could always go off-season and not worry at all about storms. There are plenty of beautiful warm places to visit while it is cold in the U.S.!

Yeah, if you can, book your vacation when it's not during hurricane season. My sister had a friend who was stuck in the caribbean and a hurricane hit. Needless to say, it was a horrible trip for them.

Eek i could not imagine being stuck in the Carribean when a hurriance hit. That would be SO scary and scar me forever from ever going on a cruise again heh. Definitely get insurance, AND try to book a vacation during the non-hurriance season!

We love to cruise around our anniversary. We haven't done it as much as we'd like since we've now cruised one fewer than half. I want to cruise the Caribbean, but we'll have to find a time other than our anniversary because I'd rather not run the risk of encountering a hurricane.

I would definitely book around hurricane season. Last year wasn't too bad but the weather can change so quickly. I couldn't imagine being trapped on an island during one.

Yeah, I don't think I would like to be in the Caribbean doing hurricane season. I planned my trip this year before hurricane season. I hear we are suppose to have a busy season this year.

I went on a cruise during hurricane season and we experience a little bad weather. We had some rain and it was very windy. I was seasick at night time.
