How much money?

I am getting free round trip tickets to Hawaii from an aunt. I will be going in June of 2007. My daughter will be a year old then so my parents said they would keep her. How much money should I take just for spending cash? I have found a few hotels I like, but have not booked yet. Should I book this far in advance, or just wait until after the new year?

How long are you planning on staying? The entire month or? Youd din't specify so it's hard to estimate how much money you should take. Sometimes it can be useful to book early but i would imagine it's too early right now. Maybe in March or so?

My friend went to Hawaii fort wo weeks and spent two thousand dollars, that does not include the airplane ticket. That's a pretty lot of money but she really did go all out heh.

Two thousand dollars for two weeks?! I want to live that grandly for two weeks. I can only imagine! Where did she stay? Where did she go eat?

Oh my gosh that's way too much money for me to spend on two weeks. I've got kids so forget it. Unless I win the lottery, it looks like I probably won't be able to travel to Hawaii anytime soon.

steve-o thanks for the information. I would probably stay for about a week. Two thousand dollars to me sounds ok, because you can really have a good time with that much money. I would stay longer, but I can't stay apart from my daughter that long.

$2, 000 for two weeks sound about right. Our family took a 7 day cruise and at the end of our cruise, our bill was over $1, 000 and I didn't over spend!!

I'm going to Hawaii within 2 months and I'm willing to spend 2 grand too. I'm going to stay for 5 days with my friends.

We want to stay at Turtle Bay Resort at Oahu for a night. Then I'll find another place for 4 days.

When I was looking at booking a trip there I can see how $2000 would actually be reasonable. It is expensive but I doubt if I will go all out when I go.
