What's the best international medical insurance?

I have never heard of international insurance? I never really thought about how my insurance would work in another country or if it even would. Hopefully someone will answer your question because I would be interested to hear which one is the best also.

It is a good question and very important! You will probably find that most insurances offer very little coverage outside the USA (check your auto policy if you drive to Canada). You might also find that they have an option for international coverage for a added fee.

My computers are covered internationally with a $100 extra preimum per year.

For medical insurance you want to make sure that your policy (or any extra you buy) will cover transportation to get you home in an medical emergency. Although many countries have medical facilities as good as or better than the USA (and generally much cheaper)... many do not.

You want to check all your insurance policies BEFORE you go... whether they are to cover your valuables or your health.

If you are going to drive, you should check your insurance and the laws where you will be driving.

Thank you. I just never thought of any of this. Especially your auto insurance. I will definetly check into this when I travel outside of my home country.

Hrm when i was a travel agent we used the insurance offered by the tour operator and or wholesaler for all trips. I would assume that the tour operator/wholesaler would be liable if the trip wasn't covered by the insurance that went with it.
