Ever since I heard Harry Belafonte singing about the tarantulas in the bunch of bananas, it has bothered me that the rustic places off the beaten track in the Caribbean Isles must have plenty of these beasties around. Is this true? Not too long ago someone in the UK unpacked their box of groceries bought at the local Tesco, which included fruit from the Caribbean, and a real live tarantula crawled out from amongst them! Must have had a long trip getting there, and for sure it must have hated the weather it emerged into!

That's pretty crazy! I am scared of spiders so that would FRESK ME OUT! But i think they are generally harmless as long as you don't anger them too much :)

I am very scared of spiders as well! If that happened to us, it would probably be in an aquarium in my daughters room right now!! Ha Ha!

Did you hear about an airline passenger getting stung repeatedly by a scorpion while at flight?

I haven't heard about the scorpion. I used to have a pet tarantula. It was surprisingly docile and didn't mind being held. I am sure it was a little shocking to see that crawl out.
