Why do most americans dress so badly?

I have traveled to all parts of Europe and they dress so classy and stylish. Here in the US, the buildings are ugly, the food is mostly unhealthy, and the people drees sloppy and casual, and it's absolutely disgusting! I have also been watching mad men and I've seen " a phildelphia story" and you see life depicted before the hippie era, and everything is much more glamourous. I've been to major cities in the US. New York was te best, but it as more preppy casual.... And Miami...for all it's popularity was trashy...I'm still in high school... So I'm not old, I just see everything differently. So tell me, why do Americans dress sloppy? Not just dress clothes...manners too! Un-gentlemen like and un-lady like manners Sorry for the typos Thomas Jefferson. And I took AP English laguange and got a 5 on the ap test, so don't even go there.
